His debut album Memory Ivy (2016) put him on the map in one fell swoop and took him from Germany to Japan - from De Wereld Draait Door to shows with Jamie Lidell, Oscar and the Wolf and Thomas Dybdahl. Noisia style neurofunk meets glitch hop, IDM, jazz, world, ambient, elevator music, and who knows what else. This amalgam of genres has no right to work, but KOAN Sound somehow pulled it off, creating perhaps one of the most innovative albums ever. Every song is fantastic, either being a banger, atmospheric, emotive, or all three at once.
